In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Owensboro Living would like to offer some “Thank You Notes” to some of our most beloved aspects of life in Owensboro, delivered in the style of Jimmy Fallon. Now, if we could have some thank you note writing music please…
Thank you, School Zone flashing lights, for making me really paranoid on snow days.
Thank you, every 4-way stop in Owensboro, for reminding us that we do live on the friendliest place on the planet. (You? Me? No, go ahead… wait. My turn? Oh, okay, thanks!)
Thank you, Gabe’s Tower, for being the new Hampton Inn’s creepy uncle from out of town that always finds a quarter behind your ear.
Thank you, Blue Bridge, for successfully joining the witness protection program so nobody knows your real name.
Thank you, Smother’s Park playground, for reminding me how out of shape I am when I have to climb three stories to get to my two-year-old who’s doing the potty dance and can’t get down fast enough and screaming his eyes out and very afraid and about to … (Sorry, that escalated quickly!)
Thank you, Owensboro Bypass Extension, for reminding us all that our town has “put on a little weight.” (You know, like we have a bigger beltline now? Right?)
And finally…. Thank you, Owensboro Sanitation trucks, for giving me a “head’s up” three houses down that it’s Thursday. (Doh!)
